10.4.14 – Greetings PSNPA Members! Our next meeting is just around the corner! We have a great meeting in store for you. We will be talking about upcoming events and activities including our December holiday meeting. Additionally, Dr. Tom Walsh from the Men’s Health Center at UW Medical Center will be guest speaking on erectile dysfunction: treatment options beyond PDE-5 Inhibitors (see attachment).

Also, next week is the UW Advanced Practice in Primary and Acute Care Pacific NW 37th Annual National Conference. Thursday, October 09, 2014 to Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Washington State Convention Center, Seattle, WA. We will be hosting an NP Meet and Greet with ARNPs United and Phenogen on Wednesday October 8th from 7-9PM at the Sheraton Hotel. Please come and enjoy free wine, appetizers, and live music (see attachment). PSNPA Announces New Board Members

Puget Sound Nurse Practitioner Association (PSNPA) announces new board members following June 2014 elections.

 

President

Travis Day, a Family Nurse Practitioner at EvergreenHealth Primary Care, was elected President of PSNPA. Day joins PSNPA with vast experience in nonprofit and business management.  He is a passionate provider that values community service and advocating for vulnerable populations.

“I am excited to serve PSNPA. I look forward to supporting PSNPA’s mission and fostering the growing network of over 2,000 ARNPs in the greater Puget Sound area,” Day comments.

 

Vice President

Amy Adkins-Dwivedi is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner, who has been committed to the health and well-being of children through her years of practice in the primary care and emergency medicine. Aside from being active in clinical work, Amy is also involved academically by serving as a faculty member in different advanced practice nursing programs and being an active preceptor of nurse practitioner students. Through her strong entrepreneurial spirit and drive, Amy helps promoting and advocating her profession by successfully started and running Stepping Stone Pediatrics, an independent nurse practitioner-run pediatric primary care clinic in Bellevue, Washington.

 

Treasurer

Linda Shin Milhoan is an Adult Nurse Practitioner and Hospitalist at the Everett Clinic. Milhoan provides experience in various areas of nursing including clinical practice, academia, and advanced practice.

 

Continuing Education (CE) Coordinator

Jennifer Carmichael is an Adult Nurse Practitioner and Hospitalist for Gastroenterology at the Polyclinic. Carmichael has a broad background in telemetry, home health, and advanced practice nursing.

 

Secretary

Kara Harrington is excited to join the board as secretary. Harrington is an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner practicing internal medicine in Snohomish County with the Granite Falls Medical Clinic. She is passionate about lifestyle interventions for chronic disease prevention and patient education.
